Ethnobotany 

The yarrow boiled in water, was used to clear away pimples. Milkweed was used to treat bowel and kidney trouble, rheumatism; asthma and stomach complaints.
Buckwheat flowers or roots were boiled and used for tea to treat stomach aches, headaches; flowers were steeped and used as an eyewash. The Pinyon nuts and acorns were ground to make flour for cooking. Prickly pear was served as a vegetable.
