The Yucca grows in the Mojave Desert. It has long spiny leaves.

This is a photo of some Yucca blossoms. The Serrano Indians would boil the tough blossoms and eat them. They also ate the Yuccas berries, and root!

You can find Yucca root in some grocery stores. Most people fry the root today, but the Serrano Indians baked them in the fire pit.
